Policy and Purpose
This company policy includes the measures Paragon Surfacing is actively taking to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus. Employees are requested to follow these rules diligently, to sustain a healthy and safe workplace in this unique environment. It is important that all employees respond responsibly and transparently to these health precautions. Paragon assures that all private health and personal data is treated with the highest confidentiality and sensitivity.
This coronavirus (COVID-19) company policy is susceptible to changes with the introduction of additional governmental guidelines. If so, Paragon will update all employees as soon as possible by email.
Scope
This coronavirus policy applies to all Paragon employees physically working in our offices and job sites. Paragon strongly recommends to our remote working personnel to read through this action plan to ensure we, collectively and uniformly, respond to this challenge.
Elimination/Engineering Controls/PPE
The virus that causes COVID-19 spreads in several ways. It can spread in droplets when a person coughs or sneezes. It can also spread if you touch a contaminated surface then touch your face.
The risk of person-to-person transmission increases the closer you come to other people, the more time you spend near them, and the more people you come near.
The risk of surface transmission increases when many people contact the same surface and when those contacts happen over short period of time.
To address these issues, Paragon has implemented the following rules:
Office, lunchroom or showroom:
- Workers with the ability to work from home will work remotely.
- Physical distancing – employee work stations must be spaced a minimum of 2 meters apart, and physical distancing must be practiced at all times.
- Door handles, light switches and other frequently-touched areas to be cleaned throughout the day and as necessary.
- Showrooms samples are sanitized after each use.
- Maximum of 2 workers in the lunchroom at one time.
- Meetings and gatherings to be held in showroom to allow for physical distancing. If physical distancing cannot be maintained, the meeting or gathering should be held by video or telephone conference, or through email.
- Workers should wash or sanitize hands regularly throughout the day. Hand sanitizer is provided in vehicles and throughout the office.
- Workers must not report to work if experiencing symptoms typical of COVID-19 such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, runny nose and sore throat. Workers should communicate the situation to management and self-isolate at home.
- Workers must not report to work if they have returned from travel (including within Canada) in the last 14 days. They should self-isolate at home for 14 days.
- Workers must not report to work if they have had exposure to a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19. They should self-isolate at home for 14 days.
Site (including travel to and from):
- Customers are asked to reschedule their appointments if they are experiencing symptoms typical of COVID-19, if they have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, or if they have travelled within the last 14 days.
- Site technicians have the right to refuse working on site if they feel unsafe and people on site are displaying symptoms of COVID-19.
- Whenever possible, workers should travel alone in their vehicles in order to practice physical distancing.
- When physical distancing is not possible, workers must:
- Sit one person to a seat in the vehicle.
- Wear a medical mask or similar personal protective equipment (PPE).
- When loading and unloading vehicles, workers must maintain physical distancing. If physical distancing is not possible, workers must wear a medical mask or similar PPE.
- While working on the job site, workers must wash or sanitize their hands prior to entering the job site and before leaving the job site. Hand sanitizer is provided in each vehicle.
- While working on the job site, counters must be sanitized with methyl hydrate before leaving.
- Workers should wash or sanitize hands regularly throughout the day. Hand sanitizer is provided in vehicles and throughout the office.
- Workers must not report to work if experiencing symptoms typical of COVID-19 such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, runny nose and sore throat. Workers should communicate the situation to management and self-isolate at home.
- Workers must not report to work if they have returned from travel (including within Canada) in the last 14 days. They should self-isolate at home for 14 days.

Shop:
- Work stations must be spaced a minimum of 2 meters apart.

- When physical distancing is not possible, all workers must wear a medical mask or similar PPE.
- All frequently-touched surfaces must be cleaned on a regular basis throughout the work day. Sanitizing sprays and hand sanitizers are provided throughout the shop and office.
- Maximum of 2 workers in the shop office at one time.
- Maximum of 1 worker in the shop lunchroom at one time.
- To facilitate contactless deliveries and physical distancing, deliveries will be left at the shipping and receiving door or in the showroom and delivery drivers are prohibited from entering the shop.
- Workers should wash or sanitize hands regularly throughout the day. Hand sanitizer is provided in vehicles and throughout the office.
- Workers must not report to work if experiencing symptoms typical of COVID-19 such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, runny nose and sore throat. Workers should communicate the situation to management and self-isolate at home.

Administrative Controls
Rules and guidelines have been established and occupancy limits have been posted in shared spaces and designated delivery areas. Information and instructions on practicing proper handwashing and hygiene have been posted in all washrooms and wash stations, as well as common areas. Signage has been posted on all entrances instructing visitors regarding physical distancing and what to do if they are experiencing symptoms typical of COVID-19. The COVID-19 safety plan has been distributed to all workers.
Managers and supervisors are to monitor how effective the program has been implemented. Management and workers are to work through this new program together and update the training as necessary.
